Another Amazon mystery box spotted in downton San Francisco.

Amazon Brings Back The Mystery Box

Earlier this year Amazon caused quite a stir when a giant Amazon box was spotted sitting on the bed of a truck in San Francisco. Reddit users took to the site to speculate what was inside, or if it was just a big hoax. Even Jerry Seinfeld, who was hosting a Q&A of sorts on Reddit chimed in with his two cents that this stunt was “almost as fake as the Amazon Drone delivery system.” Once again, another Amazon box big enough to fit the entire cast of Seinfeld was recently spotted by an editor at Re/Code on the back of a truck in the SoMa neighborhood of San Francisco.

Re/Code reached out to Amazon for comment, and received word that unlike the Nissan advertising campaign that was the culmination of January’s big box debut, this time it’s something different. An Amazon rep shared with Re/Code that the big unveil is part of a new program that would be brought to light the following week. Additionally, there are 15 total boxes scattered across the country. The last bit of information that Re/Code was able to solicit is that this new program reveal will consist of deliveries in time for the holiday season – and that we’ll have to wait to find out more.

Stay tuned for updates on “what’s in the box.” We’re expecting it will be less dramatic than the ending of the movie SE7EN, but maybe more interesting than the last. What do you think it could be?
